I'm so excited to share this mini tutorial with you, it has been on my mind for quite a while, so I'm happy is here and you get to enjoy it.
The Materials for this project are:
- Crochet hook
- Any yarn of your choice
- Hairband
- Scissors
- Darning needle
- Stitch marker (optional)
The first thing we are going to do is to make a chain that is 10cm in length. I prefer to give cm measurements since that way you can choose any yarn and any hook you want, just make the chain an uneven number.
Then once that is done, we will do a slip stitch around the hairband, that way we will be crocheting the scrunchie straight away with only seaming at the end and it will be done in the round.
If you are familiar with my work, you already know that I absolutely love textures, so this Scrunchie was no exception.
The stitch I used is called "Seed Stitch", for this stitch pattern, you will always work double crochet stitches into single crochet stitches of the row below, and always work single crochet stitches into double crochet stitches of the row below.
Just keep working your way through all the rounds, keep stretching the hairband to see how much you have left.
Once you have reached your desired length you are all set to start seaming the ends.
Sew the end the way that works best for you, and then you are all done!
I hope you enjoyed making this, and please tag me if you do so I can see it! I'll definitely be making more and experimenting with different stitches so stay tuned!
